After taking possession of your new boat package, follow the instructions below.
Before starting you will want to have three items saved to your computer as separate items: a copy of your bill of sale (PDF), your photo I.D (PDF), and a picture of your boat. Please note: other boats are not allowed to be in the photo.
Follow these steps to register a new boat or a previously unregistered boat:
Start by clicking this link: https://www.pcl-pep.snbservices.ca/1001/PubWeb/Application.aspx
- Application Type Selection: click “I am a Pleasure Craft Owner”
- Scroll down a couple lines and select “New”
- Scroll down a little further and check the “I have read the privacy statement” box.
- Follow the prompts as everything is very straight forward until the boat or “Pleasure Craft Information”
- Fill in the Pleasure Craft info as follows: disregard the first 3 boxes, select Domestic, select your region (likely Saskatchewan), enter your propulsion type, enter the length of your boat in meters, enter the year of manufacture, enter your Hull Serial Number (disregard the “US-” or “CA-” prefix, your serial # only has 12 characters), SKIP the Compliance # (it is not required), select “monohull” for a fishing boat or ski boat or “pontoon” for a pontoon or tritoon, pick “aluminum” for an aluminum fishing boat or pontoon boat, select “fibreglass” for a fibreglass ski boat, enter the primary and secondary colors of your boat, enter the make and model exactly how it appears on your bill of sale, leave the Manufacture field blank if you don’t see the correct manufacturer in the list.
- Follow the prompts and attach the requested supporting documents.
- Review all of your info on the last page and select to have your registration sent by email.
- Print or screen shot the confirmation page with your Acknowledgement Number which is your registration number.
- Within minutes you will receive an email from Transport Canada with a temporary 90 day registration. Print this document and put a copy in your boat. You will receive a 10 year registration shortly after by email once a person reviews your application at Transport Canada.
